ST. CHARLES, Mo. — In these parts, some call him "Scott Free" Rosenblum.

Scott Rosenblum, one of the St. Louis area’s preeminent defense attorneys, is now on Christopher Vaughn’s legal defense team.

The dapper defense attorney, a lawyer to football stars and rappers, will represent the accused killer when he makes it back to Will County to face murder charges.

Rosenblum has Will County ties. His cousin Martin Rudman was Will County’s state’s attorney in the 1970s and served as a judge before retiring in 1999.

Rosenblum says he has won 14 murder trials in the past 3oe years. He was at former St. Louis Rams star Marshall Faulk’s side when the running back beat a domestic battery lawsuit in 2003. When Rams defensive end Leonard Little was acquitted of DUI in 2004, he hugged Rosenblum.

In 2003, he represented a man charged with killing his wife and 10-year-old daughter by setting fire to their home. Police said he admitted setting the blaze, but a jury found him not guilty. Rosenblum argued the confession was coerced and the wife set the fire.
